MALINCHE is Nacho Cano‘s new musical project, which opened in Madrid on 15th September 2022.
The play narrates one of the most significant historical events to know our past, understand our present and enrich our future: the birth of miscegenation. Malinche is a celebration of the life of an extraordinary and little-known woman who navigated between two apparently opposing worlds and mediated between two cultures on the verge of inevitable conflict.
In the midst of this paradigmatic tension, love is born between the protagonists. A love that anticipates the union that will emerge between the two brotherly peoples that we are today, Mexico and Spain.
MALINCHE breaks the mould of the traditional spectacle
For the last 10 years, the members of all the technical and artistic departments of MALINCHE have worked together to design a staging that could live up to Nacho Cano‘s score.

Nacho Cano is one of the most successful artists on the Spanish and international scene. Founding member of the group Mecano, he is the creator of one of the best musicals in its honour “Hoy no me puedo levantar”, with more than four million tickets sold.
At MALINCHE you can enjoy “Destino México Mágico”, the latest single by Nacho Cano. It is also the author’s first single after more than a decade of complete dedication to the creation of MALINCHE. “Destino México Mágico”, the flagship song of his masterpiece, is a hymn to diversity and fusion.
Technical and artistic departments of reference
The aspiration of the musical is none other than to create a whirlwind of emotions, to transmit a broader, optimistic and human vision, leaving a melody in the memory. To focus on what unites us, not on what separates us, and to defend ourselves as what we are: an extraordinary linguistic and cultural community.
The result is spectacular on all visual levels: costumes, make-up, lighting, sets, and of course choreography and acrobatics. A true renewal of the genre. A total experience that breaks the moulds of the traditional show and renews its patterns. To achieve this milestone, MALINCHE draws on the best technical and artistic team possible.
Two of the most prestigious workshops (Molla and Estudio Arte Herrador) have been in charge of carrying out their spectacular and complex scenographies, under the direction and supervision of Hansel Cereza, one of the world’s leading experts in acrobatic flights and performing arts. Hansel is co-founder of the legendary company La Fura Dels Baus, and has led several successful shows in Las Vegas, such as LOVE, or the last Pan-American Games.
The costumes for Malinche were created by José Ventura and his team, an international stylist with more than 20 years of experience in the creative image, fashion and entertainment sector, who has developed his career between Spain, Mexico and New York, on stages such as Broadway, and collaborated for years with creators of the stature of Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque du Soleil.
Flamenco is part of the integrated arts of the musical through one of its most significant exponents, Jesús Carmona, who won the Benois Prize.

MALINCHE doesn’t let you be a mere spectator. Like the best party host, it embraces you and integrates you as soon as you enter the venue. In MALINCHE everything begins before the musical starts in Los Jardines de México and in Malinche El Templo Canalla.
JARDINES DE MEXICO
Malinche Templo Canalla has outdoor spaces called los Jardines de Mexico. Impressive air-conditioned gardens with a food truck to live the Malinche experience from the start, tacos and beers to celebrate the miscegenation and life from the beginning of your adventure. It has two different spaces, one of 150 m2 and the other of 200 m2.
MALINCHE TEMPLO CANALLA
A spectacular food hall of more than 1,000 m2 designed by the Madrid in Love studio, responsible for the image of some of Madrid’s most renowned restaurants and gastronomic projects.
Malinche’s love story with Hernán Cortés bridged the gap between two cultures, giving way to the fusion of two worlds. This fusion can be savoured in the gastronomic proposal of Malinche Templo Canalla, where you can delight yourself with flavours of the best fusion between Mexico and Spain. They also have menus adapted to all kinds of tastes and needs: vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.
POST SHOW KARAOKE

Metro and RENFE Commuter trains
The nearest Metro station is Line 8: Nuevos Ministerios-Airport T4 (The exit leads to the South Entrance of the Exhibition Centre). It connects the fairgrounds with the terminals of Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport. RENFE commuter trains have a direct connection to Metro Line 8 from Nuevos Ministerios station.

A wide network of buses allows you to get to IFEMA MADRID from different parts of the city:

There is an extra charge of 3,00 € for access and/or exit from the site.

Uber has an exclusive point where you can comfortably meet your driver, located in the Amarillo car park in front of the IFEMA South Gate.

Parking
The South, North and East Entrances of the exhibition centre provide direct access to the different parking areas. Parking is available at the Exhibition Centre and Palacio Municipal.
Sustainable parking at IFEMA MADRID
IFEMA MADRID and Iberdrola are launching the first sustainable car park at a exhibition centre. The ‘Iberdrola Electric Recharge Car Park’, available to visitors and exhibitors at Feria de Madrid, allows the simultaneous recharging of 34 electric vehicles.
