Yes, you read that right. Visiting the university should be on your list of must-do’s on your visit to Madrid. But don’t just go to any university, what you have to do is go to the Real Jardín Botánico Alfonso XII of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, to listen to the best music and an atmosphere like you’ve never seen before.

Have you recovered from the initial shock? Well, let me bring you up to date. Las Noches del Botánico are a series of concerts that take place in June and July every year at the Real Jardín Botánico Alfonso XII.
The best thing about this event is not the artists, which is saying something because later on you will see how good they are, but everything that surrounds it. The Botanical Garden is a magical place, where the stage is under the branches of the trees, where you can breathe good vibes and find people reading a book in a hammock, enjoying the music or just chatting on the lawn.
It’s not just us who say that this event is really cool, but also some people who know about it, like the people at the Fest Awards. On three occasions they have been awarded Best Small Format Festival. Three times. As well as being recognised twice as the most sustainable concert series on the Iberian Peninsula, by the Iberian Festival Awards.
Now look me in the face and tell me you can’t see yourself there. The hard part is not going, the hard part is not going every day.
Location of the Noches del Botánico in Madrid
Let me tell you exactly where to go, what you’ll find there and how you’ll freak out when you realise how many editions the Botanical Nights have already been held and how much you’ve missed.
You’ll make up for it by visiting the Complutense University of Madrid, which has an Oasis, literally, in its Real Jardín Botánico Alfonso XII. Among its more than 6,000 square metres, the Royal Botanical Garden is home to more than a thousand natural species. A real lung of the city with a flora that many would wish for.
How to get to Noches del Botánico in Madrid
Public transport in Madrid is fantastic, and there’s no better way to get around. Let’s take as a starting point, I don’t know, some central place you can think of, something charming and popular. Did someone say CATS Hostel Madrid? OK, let’s start from Calle de los Cañizares, 6.
Very close to CATS Hostel is the metro stop Antón Martín, by the way, a market that we definitely recommend you to visit. From there, take line 1 to Pacífico, change to line 6 and this will take you to the Ciudad Universitaria stop. The hustle and bustle is about 500 metres away on foot.
The second option is to use the bus, which has several bus lines available to Avenida Complutense – Jardín Botánico;
- 132: Moncloa – Hospital La Paz
- G: Moncloa – Ciudad Universitaria
- 82: Moncloa – Pitis
- U: Avenida Séneca – Paraninfo
- N20 Cibeles – Pitis (Night service from 11:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.)

Here comes the main course, after having seen the great atmosphere that awaits you, the cosiness and beauty of the place and the good vibes that you will find, it’s time to get down to business: the music.
For this edition of 2026 you will be able to enjoy artists such as: Tom Jones, Loreena Mckennitt, Paolo Nutini, Julieta Venegas, Take That, Chucho Valdés, James Blunt, Toto, Simple Minds, Passenger, and many more.
I’m sure you’ve read some of the names and thought: I can’t miss it, can I? It’s normal, with a poster like this it’s impossible to resist.
