Christmas is here, and there’s nowhere to hide from it. It’s coming for you, for me, for all of us. So instead of trying to avoid it, go out and enjoy it.
Besides, you’re in Córdoba, and Christmas here is something completely different from anything you’ve experienced before.
If you’re lucky enough to be in Córdoba during Christmas, here’s a complete guide on what to do, where, how, and when.
Christmas 2025 in Córdoba
If Córdoba is a beautiful and vibrant city, imagine it at Christmas. The City Council has organized more than 400 activities—you read that right—starting on December 2nd to make the most of these very special holidays. Come on, Córdoba awaits!
Activities and plans to welcome Christmas 2025 in Córdoba
From December 2nd, the magic of Christmas will begin to fill the air in Córdoba. That day, the Municipal Nativity Scene will be inaugurated at the San Felipe Neri Oratory at 5:00 PM. Could there be anything more Christmassy than a Nativity scene?
Just one hour later, there will be a parade through the city centre, followed by the switching on of Córdoba’s Christmas lights. Don’t think it’s as simple as flipping a button, turning them on, and that’s it—not at all.
The light and sound show that attracts everyone’s attention every year will take place on Cruz Conde Street. The first show, the inaugural one, will be at 6:30 PM and will occur every half hour until 8:00 PM.
The “Courtyards at Christmas” program will showcase how Córdoba’s famous courtyards look at this time of year, and it’s something we highly recommend you don’t miss.
Magic shows, cultural activities, team sports, children’s theatre, traditional Christmas carol singing, tourist buses, and much more.
Christmas Markets in Cordoba 2025
Here we have to stop, because talking about Christmas in Cordoba and not mentioning its Christmas markets would be crazy and a total lack of respect, both for Cordoba and for Christmas.
Christmas markets are an essential part of the Christmas spirit, and here we have them of all kinds. We’re warning you, you’ll want to visit them all! And hey, that’s fantastic for us. Christmas atmosphere, traditional food, gifts, Christmas decorations—is there anyone who can resist that?
This year, Córdoba boasts six Christmas markets, stretching across both the historic centre and the city’s various neighbourhoods. And if you’re still looking for more—which is unlikely—you can also visit the markets set up in nearby towns like Puente Genil, Lucena, or Rute.
The Plaza de las Tendillas Christmas Market
This is the first market you should visit, as it’s the largest, most popular, and best-known. Open from mid-November, you can explore its more than 20 Christmas stalls and see why it remains the most beloved year after year.
The Nativity scene figures in over 80% of Córdoba homes originated from these stalls. It’s that simple, and as soon as you arrive, you’ll understand why. If you get hungry while you’re here, you’re in luck, because the traditional food stalls are a real treat: Estepa shortbread, wine-flavoured doughnuts, roasted chestnuts, and everything your cholesterol can handle.
It’s not just about nativity scene figures; you’ll also find other types of Christmas decorations, from garlands to Christmas tree ornaments. Everything for you.
Christmas Market in Plaza de la Corredera
If the Christmas market in Plaza de la Corredera isn’t a melting pot of cultures and eras, I don’t know what is. And we’re not just talking about the fifteen stalls that offer every Christmas product you can imagine.
We’re talking about the fact that you have before you one of the most valuable and beautiful architectural ensembles in all of Andalusia: the 17th-century arcades of Plaza de la Corredera.
But while you’re traveling back in time, you can also enjoy the ice rink that’s set up in this square every year. And to complete the mix of eras and sensations, there will be flamenco performances on Friday afternoons. All of this will be at your fingertips starting December 3rd.
Paseo de la Victoria Christmas Market
From December 1st until the arrival of the Three Kings, the Paseo de la Victoria dresses up to welcome Christmas and create one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in all of Spain.
Besides being one of the largest, with more than 20 stalls, its location makes it the perfect place to take a stroll and let yourself be carried away by the Christmas spirit. And the spirit of shopping, too.
With the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba in the background, walks through gardens that connect to the historic centre, stalls with the best traditional local cuisine ranging from Iberian cured meats to extra virgin olive oil from Priego de Córdoba—is it possible that each market is even better and more beautiful than the last? You’ll see how you’ll end up having to visit them all.
Charity Market in the Patio de los Naranjos (Orange Tree Courtyard)
On December 14th and 15th, you have a date that’s both festive and charitable. The charity market in the Patio de los Naranjos, inside the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, is an event where all proceeds will go to local social programs.
You come here for a good cause and stay for the fantastic atmosphere and the great vibe. You can buy countless handmade items crafted by local people: scarves, bookmarks, bracelets, and much more. You’ll also find second-hand goods and, of course, you’ll find something to eat here, no doubt about it.
Jewish Quarter Artisan Market
The Jewish Quarter market is held on the first Sunday of every month, and December is no exception. In fact, during the Christmas season, you can find it for several days, always coinciding with holidays and Sundays.
Here, each item is a work of art, the result of hours of work and years of experience. There will be fewer tourists and more locals, who seek and find quality and fair prices. The stalls are open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
And once you’ve seen all the stalls, and perhaps bought something, remember that you’re in one of the best places in the city to stroll and eat; The Jewish Quarter.
New Year’s Eve 2025 in Córdoba
In Córdoba, New Year’s Eve is celebrated in Plaza de Las Tendillas, surrounded by a festive atmosphere, music, and good vibes. Before the clock strikes midnight, there will be live music concerts to keep the party going from late afternoon onwards, and then, of course, there will be fireworks.
But if you really want to know where the best atmosphere is and where the party starts, head to CATS Hostel Córdoba, because it’s the meeting point for hundreds of people from all over the world. And you can not only start the party here, but also end it here, because it’s the best hostel in the entire city of Córdoba. Come and see for yourself.
