A credit card is needed to arrange a booking, both through the website or at the hostel in person. However, this is only to secure the booking and you can pay with cash at check–in. 

Yes, we only accept minors in our hostel as long as they stay in private rooms accompanied by a responsible person.

Check–in usually starts at 3:00 p.m. However, the lovely staff of Cats Hostels will do everything possible to try to check you in earlier, if your room/bed is available. 

Normal check–out is until 11:00 a.m. But party animals can check-out as late as 1:00 p.m. for an extra fee of €5 if they pre-arrange it with reception since it is subject to availability of the Hostel. 

Don’t worry, we are open 24 hours! 

However, if you are checking in after 11.00 p.m., we kindly ask you to call us or send us an email and let us know, so we can keep your bed warm & ready! 

Yes! You can use it after check-out and paying €2.

We don’t have a private shuttle service to the airport, but we have the contact information of a good company and we can help you book with them!

Yes, there is a city tax of €3 per person per night, which is not included in the reservation price and must be paid upon check-in. It is subject to a maximum payment period of 7 days, i.e., €21 per guest.

All our rooms have a bathroom inside, both private rooms and shared dorms!  

Shared rooms: bed linen, Wi-Fi, air conditioning/heating, personal locker under the bed (don’t forget your padlock), personal reading light, two European outlets per bed, small fan per bed (Loureiro), private bathroom, and hairdryer. Earplugs are available for €0.50 at reception.

Private rooms: Linen, WiFi, AC/Heating, towels, closet, private bathroom, and hairdryer. Double rooms are also blessed with nice views! 

We can’t assure you 100%, but if you send us a request after your booking, we will try our best to accommodate you in the same room! 

If you are 10 or more people, you can contact our group department for assistance and we will definitely help you to get the room or rooms you need.  

Of course! As long as that reservation is for one of our fantastic private rooms.

Your friends are welcome in all the common areas with public access (reception area, bar, and rooftop) The other areas of the hostel are for Cats guests use only. You need a key to access to these restricted areas, and this key is personal and non-transferable. 

We don’t have room service, but we do have a dining room! We serve a full breakfast for €7. If you’d like something lighter, we recommend the coffee, savoy cabbage, and toast combo for €4. If you’re one of those people who can’t function without coffee, we also offer a cup of coffee for €2.

We serve the best pizza in town from 8 PM to midnight and are closed two days a week. So be sure to stop by quickly if you don’t want to miss out.

Yeees, we do. Don’t expect MasterChef facilities, but enough for that not–so–elaborated-travel-pasta–dish we know you’re going to cook… 

Yes! We have self-serve laundry facilities and you can wash and dry for €8. The detergent is included! 

We have an elevator in two of our buildings: Cativo and Loureiro. 

We don’t have an elevator in Chã building (where the twin rooms and family room are located) 

Do people still print their boarding passes in the smartphone era? ????

Yes, we can print that for you, of course!

Bringing alcohol from outside the hostel is not permitted. But if you’re feeling party-minded and fancy a drink, our bar has the best selection of drinks in town at unbeatable prices.

We sell lockers, earplugs, rent towels, cat merchandise like t-shirts, and have activities like pub crawls.

Yes, you can rent a towel for €4. That means that you have to return it to reception during check-out or when you’re done with it. Some towels magically disappear but remember… karma is watching! 

We are a party-animal friendly hostel, but we don’t allow pets inside. Sorry about that!
